When working with hazardous substances or in potentially dangerous settings, worksites and users need to feel that safety is a top priority. MSA’s Altair gas detectors and MSA’s Altair QuickCheck Stations provide that sense of security as MSA products prioritize safety and reliability above all else. The QuickCheck Station is specially adapted for unique working conditions with its compatibility with other Altair products, easy to read test indicators, internal test record retention, and lightweight portability.
Features
The Altair QuickCheck Station tests Altair products for gas detection effectiveness and alarm functioning. The QuickCheck Station is compatible with the Altair and Altair Pro Single-Gas Detectors. The unit’s easy to read displays and test indicator settings reduce the risk of mistaken test results. As Altair gas detection devices develop to meet industry needs, Altair’s QuickCheck Station versions will be available with the ability to test the upcoming exotic gas variations.
The Altair QuickCheck Station has a variety of key features. The unit is designed to test Altair gas detectors sequentially for visual alarm activation, vibrating alarm activation, audible alarm activation and verification, and sensor gas response. The QuickCheck Station will indicate an easy to read pass or fail of the unit being tested. Users need only to set the gas detection instrument into the test station and manually press the “TEST” button. The test station records the date, time, and test results internally. The testing station can store up to 25 individual tests and results, and the Altair Pro Detector can store up to 50 individual tests and results.
Easy to read
The testing device also notifies users of the testing progress with a variety of easy to understand visual LED indicators. When the device is in the process of testing the gas detector, the device will flash an amber light. A solid red light indicates that the gas detector failed the test, and a green light indicates the detector passed the test. If a device is left mounted to the QuickCheck Station, the station will display a checkmark for 24 hours following a passed test.
Portability
The QuickCheck Station is lightweight at approximately 8.6 ounces (or 245 grams) and easily portable at approximately 2 inches in height, 4 ¾ inches in width, and 6 inches long. Typical testing time for the Altair QuickCheck Station is under 30 seconds and can be purchased in both automatic and manual versions. The unit is rated to operate in temperature conditions between 32 and 104 degrees Fahrenheit. The device also operates on 115/230 VAC or 50/60 Hz, and a car accessory power supply is available for additional power supply needs. Users may find a variety of replacement and accessory parts available in North America and internationally.
While Altair QuickCheck Station is the standard for excellence in safety, its cost-efficient production ensures that the unit is affordable and available. With the unit’s quick test time of less than 30 seconds, compatibility with other Altair gas detection devices, and easy to read test LED test indicators, Altair QuickCheck Station is an industry leader in safety and reliability.
